E154 | Congressional Record, Volume 172 Issue 35 (Monday, February 23, 2026) [Congressional Record Volume 172, Number 35 (Monday, February 23, 2026)] [Extensions of Remarks] [Pages E154-E155] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] HONORING MIGUELINA CAMILO _____ HON. RITCHIE TORRES of new york in the house of representatives Monday, February 23, 2026 Mr. TORRES of New York. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to congratulate Miguelina Camilo on her historic appointment as Chief of Staff in the New York City Council Speaker's Office. This is not only a personal achievement, but a milestone for the Bronx, for New York City, and for the Dominican-American community that helped shape her journey. Most recently, Miguelina served as Counsel to Speaker Heastie of the New York State Assembly, where she played critical roles in overseeing legislative initiatives, coordinating across agencies, and engaging with community members. She was key in leading discussions with the Executive on funding much needed discovery reform. Her work strengthened our justice system and delivered real results for New Yorkers. Before that, Miguelina was a transformative leader in the nonprofit and legal community--serving as President of the Bronx Chapter of 100 Hispanic Women, the Bronx Women's Bar Association, and the Dominican Bar Association. She mentored young people, elevated legal professionals, and set a standard of excellence grounded in integrity and service. Miguelina Camilo has spent a lifetime serving her city. I have no doubt she will bring the same dedication and rigor to the Speaker's Office. New York City is better for it. [[Page E155]] ____________________ |
