Thurmond, Strom [R-SC] SC R T000254 1 (Measure passed House, amended) Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to acquire specified lands or land interests in South Carolina for facilities, including a tourboat dock and a museum, associated with the Fort Sumter National Monument. Authorizes the Secretary to grant leasehold, easements, and other land interests to Charleston, South Carolina, and the State of South Carolina, for specified periods with an option to purchase. Makes appropriations available for such acquisitions. Authorizes additional appropriations. Directs the Secretary to transfer jurisdiction of the Broad Street site to the Secretary of the Department in which the Coast Guard is operating in exchange for specified lands to be used in support of the Monument. Directs the Secretary to act on the application of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Wells of Waynesboro, Mississippi, for a patent on specified lands. 2025-04-23T11:41:33Z
