Hecht, Chic [R-NV] NV R H000439 1 (Measure passed House, amended) Great Basin National Park Act of 1986 - Establishes the Great Basin National Park, Nevada. Abolishes the Lehman Caves National Monument and incorporates its lands into such Park. Permits fishing, except in designated zones. Directs the Secretary of the Interior to prepare and report to the House Interior and Insular Affairs Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee within three years on a management plan for such Park. Authorizes grazing as before and permits an exchange of grazing allotments for allotments outside the Park. Authorizes the Secretary to enter into cooperative agreements to provide for interpretation of the Great Basin physiographic region. Authorizes the Secretary to acquire lands within the boundaries of such Park with the consent of the owner. Transfers the administration of specified lands within the Park from the National Forest Service to the Secretary. Authorizes appropriations. 2025-04-23T11:41:33Z
