Wallop, Malcolm [R-WY] WY R W000092 0 Health Maintenance Organization Amendments of 1985 - Amends title XIII (Health Maintenance Organizations) of the Public Health Service Act to repeal provisions authorizing assistance for feasibility surveys, planning, initial development, and operation of health maintenance organizations (HMOs). Repeals provisions of such Act which authorize loans and loan guarantees for the acquisition and construction of ambulatory health care facilities. Eliminates the National Health Maintenance Organization Intern Program. Repeals provisions of such Act regarding the requirements of HMO and employees' health benefits plans. Amends the Social Security Act to describe the method for determining rates of payment for health services. Requires any health care organization to protect its members from incurring liability for payment of fees which are the legal obligation of the organization. Makes technical and conforming amendments. 2025-08-29T16:32:58Z
