[D-OH] OH D M000678 3 Airline Cabin Safety Act of 1984 - Requires the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), not later than January 1, 1985, to issue a final rule applicable to commercial passenger aircraft that sets standards and requirements for: (1) improved fire containment of aircraft cargo compartments; (2) floor proximity emergency lighting; (3) fire blocking layers or other means to reduce the dangers of burning cabin seats; and (4) smoke detectors and automatic fire extinguishers in lavatories and galleys. Requires the FAA, not later than January 1, 1986, to issue a final rule applicable to such aircraft that sets standards and requirements for the amounts and chemical quality of smoke and toxic gas emitted by burning cabin interior materials.
