Panetta, Leon [D-CA-16] CA D P000047 18 Foreign Language and International Studies Incentive Act - Amends the National Defense Education Act of 1958 to direct the Secretary of Education to establish a program of making grants to institutions of higher education to promote student enrollment in foreign language and international studies. Requires that such grants be applied to the tuition and fees charged to students in qualified programs, in amounts per academic year of up to $1,000 for a student in an advanced program and up to $500 for a student in a preliminary program. Sets forth priority categories for awarding students such grants. Authorizes appropriations to carry out this Act for fiscal years 1981 through 1986. 2025-09-02T13:54:35Z
