R. 11291 passed in lieu) Amends the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to authorize an appropriation of $25,252,000 for fiscal year 1979 to the United States Fire Administration, including: (1) $6,043,000 for the renovation of the National Academy for Fire Prevention and Control; and (2) $5,600,000 for the Fire Research Center. Changes the name of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration to the United States Fire Administration. Permits the Administrator, upon request of any State or local government, to investigate the facts, conditions, and probable cause of any serious fire of a recurring nature. Makes available information from such investigation at a reasonable cost to interested persons. Prohibits such information from being admitted as evidence in any court or used in any action for damages growing out of any matter mentioned in such investigation. 2025-01-14T18:51:33Z
