Rept. 95-1542) Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to construct hydroelectric powerplants at the following locations: (1) Friand powerplant unit, Central Valley project, California; (2) Hoover Dam powerplant, Arizona, Nevada; and (3) Buffalo Bill Dam project, Wyoming. Stipulates that the power generated by such facilities shall be delivered to the Secretary of Energy for distribution and marketing through existing Federal hydroelectric power marketing systems. Authorizes appropriations in specified amounts for the construction of each facility under this Act. Authorizes appropriations in such amounts as may be required by the Secretary of Energy to interconnect such facilities. Provides for the rescission of such project authorizations upon the Secretary of Interior forwarding to Congress a feasibility report showing the projects economically or environmentally unjustified. Authorizes the Secretary of Interior to engage in feasibility investigations of the following hydroelectric power projects and a potential water resource development project: (1) Whiskeytown Powerplant, Trinity River Division, Central Valley project, California; (2) Palisades Powerplant Enlargement, Palisades projects, Idaho; (3) Canyon Ferry Powerplant additions, Canyon Ferry unit, Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin program, Montana; (4) Yellowtail Afterbay Powerplant; Yellowtail unit, Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin project, Montana; (5) Colorado-Big Thompson Powerplant additions, Colorado-Big Thompson project, Colorado; and (6) North Dakota Rural Domestic Water Supply System, Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program, North Dakota. | 2024-08-01T20:03:17Z |
