Skubitz, Joe [R-KS-5] KS R S000472 2 Visitors Promotion Act - Establishes in the Department of Commerce a Visitors Information Agency. Requires the Administrator of such Agency: (1) to establish a national tourism policy; (2) to develop, plan, and carry out a program to encourage travel to the United States by residents of foreign countries; and (3) to take other specified steps to encourage travel. Requires the Administrator to organize "Visit USA Committees" in foreign countries to promote travel to the United States. Requires the Secretary of Commerce to establish an interagency task force to promote and develop tourism in the United States. Requires the Administrator to report semiannually to the President and to the Congress on activities carried out under this Act. Abolishes the United States travel service. 2025-09-02T17:11:21Z
