95-hr-13451 95 hr 13451 A bill to amend the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 to provide that the functions of the Federal Government with respect to the metric system shall be limited to coordinating the conversion to such system in areas or industries which desire it, and keeping the public informed thereon, without encouraging in any way the adoption or use of such system. Vests in the Secretary of Commerce responsibility for devising a metric system coordination and education program. Requires the Comptroller General to make cost-benefit analysis of metric usage and to publish reports on any adverse effects resulting from increasing metric usage. Requires the Secretary to report to Congress and the President on the program. Prohibits implementation of such program unless incorporated in or approved by a law enacted within 60 days of submission. 2024-08-01T20:06:30Z
