[D-TX] TX D B000401 0 Worker Relocation Assistance Act - Authorizes the Secretary of Labor, under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, to provide relocation allowances to specified unemployed individuals. Sets forth conditions governing receipt of such assistance, including the requirement that such person: (1) cannot reasonably be expected to secure employment in the commuting area in which that person resides; and (2) has obtained or has had an offer of suitable long-term employment elsewhere. States that such allowance shall be equal to 80 percent of reasonable transportation expenses, up to a maximum payment of $800. Directs the Secretary to enter into agreements with States to receive applications for and to provide relocation assistance. Sets forth penalties for obtaining payments fraudulently under this Act. Authorizes appropriations of $5,000,000 for fiscal year 1976 and $10,000,000 for fiscal year 1977 to carry out the purposes of this Act. 2025-09-02T18:52:15Z
