Milford, Dale [D-TX-24] TX D M000708 0 Directs the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to carry out a research and development project to implement and operate on a test basis within specified counties of Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, a prototype imminent disaster warning system. Specifies that such system shall utilize existing commercial FM radio station subchannels and should provide for both an audible and visual alarm and verbal instructions in a disaster situation. Requires the Administrator to submit to the Congress within four years the results of the operation of such system and his conclusion regarding the feasibility of implementation of a permanent system. Authorizes to be appropriated $50,000,000 to carry out the purposes of this Act. 2024-08-01T19:27:20Z
