Rept. 94-1092) Amends the Comprehensive Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation Act of 1970 to authorize the appropriation of specified amounts in fiscal years 1976 through 1979 to carry out the purposes of such Act. Authorizes the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare to designate National Alcohol Research Centers for the purpose of interdisciplinary research relating to alcoholism and other alcohol problems. Directs the Secretary to make annual grants to such centers, not in excess of $1,000,000. Requires State alcohol abuse programs and the Secretary to give special consideration to alcohol abuse treatment and prevention for women and juveniles, and effectuates such provision with respect to State plan requirements after June 30, 1976. Entitles alcohol abusers and alcoholics to be treated at outpatient facilities receiving Federal funds for treatment of alcoholism. Requires State alcohol abuse programs to include assurance that there will be some means of evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation programs funded under the Act, and effectuates such provision with respect to State plan requirements after June 30, 1976. Requires that the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism approve applications for grants under such Act. Amends the Drug Abuse Office and Treatment Act of 1972 to require State drug abuse programs and the Secretary to give special consideration to drug abuse treatment and prevention for women and juveniles. | 2024-08-01T19:31:07Z |
