[D-TX-9] TX D B000880 6 Presidential Protection Assistance Act - Requires Federal departments and agencies to assist the United States Secret Service in providing protection to major presidential or vice-presidential candidates, and to other persons entitled to such protection under law. States that such assistance may be in the form of personnel, equipment, facilities, or actual costs for such protection. Provides that such protection shall not be afforded at more than one property per eligible family at a time not in Government ownership or control. Provides that this limitation shall not apply to members of the immediate family who do not permanently reside with the President. Provides that no payments shall be made pursuant to this Act for services, equipment, or facilities ordered, purchased, leased, or otherwise procured by persons other than officers or employees of the Federal Government duly authorized by the Director of the United States Secret Service to make such procurements. States that public funds not specifically appropriated to the United States Secret Service for carrying out the provisions of this Act shall not be used for the purpose of securing any nongovernmentally owned property owned, leased, occupied, or otherwise utilized by persons entitled to protection under Federal law. Provides that expenditures made pursuant to this Act shall be subject to audit by the Comptroller General and his authorized representatives. 2025-09-03T12:50:14Z
