Lujan Grisham, Michelle [D-NM-1] | NM | D | L000580 | 0 | Start Allocating Funds Efficiently to States Act This bill amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to modify the calculation used to allocate state formula grant funds under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program. Currently, the calculation gives equal weight to two factors—a state's share of violent crime and population. This bill decreases the weight of one factor—population—and increases the weight of the other factor—violent crime. | 2023-01-11T13:41:44Z |
