Casey, Robert P., Jr. [D-PA] PA D C001070 7 Afghan Women and Girls Security Promotion Act of 2012 - Directs the Secretary of Defense to submit to the congressional defense and foreign relations committees a Department of Defense (DOD) strategy to promote the security of Afghan women during the security transition process. Requires such strategy to include a strategy to: (1) monitor and respond to changes in women's security conditions in areas undergoing transition, (2) increase gender awareness and responsiveness among Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP) personnel, and (3) increase the number of female members of the ANA and ANP. Directs the Secretary to include in each report on progress toward security and stability in Afghanistan (as required under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008) a description of actions taken to implement the above strategy. 2023-01-11T13:23:09Z
