Holt, Rush [D-NJ-12] NJ D H001032 0 Vote Tabulation Audit Act of 2006 - Amends the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to establish requirements for state tabulation of votes and aggregation of vote counts in any election for federal office, including requirements for: (1) the treatment of ballots cast at early voting sites as well as absentee and provisional ballots; (2) the sealing and securing of ballots in the event of system failure during tabulation; and (3) mandatory hand recount in case of unresolved discrepancy. Provides for: (1) payments to states to cover costs of tabulations of votes cast on optical scan voting systems; and (2) adoption of a model format by the Election Assistance Commission for posting the tabulation of votes and aggregate vote counts. 2022-02-03T05:28:09Z
