[R-OR] OR R S001142 1 Savage Rapids Dam Act of 2000 - Requires the Secretary of the Interior, prior to removal of Savage Rapids Dam, to: (1) design and install modern electric irrigation pumps and associated infrastructure at or near the Dam on the Rogue River in Oregon to supply water to the Grants Pass Irrigation District; (2) install fish screens at the pump stations; and (3) certify that the pumping facilities are operational and in conformity with environmental regulations.Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to acquire the Dam and remove it and to correct any deficiencies in the design, specification, and installation of the pumps.Vests title to the pumping facilities in the District.Requires the Bureau of Reclamation to monitor any impacts downstream from the Dam resulting from dam removal and to implement appropriate remedial actions.Requires the Bureau and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to implement fisheries enhancement projects upstream of the Dam and downstream to the mouth of Applegate River to minimize the impact, and maximize the benefit, of dam removal.Requires the Secretary to work with the State of Oregon and Josephine and Jackson Counties to implement community recreational enhancement projects. 2026-03-24T12:48:03Z
