[R-UT] UT R H000338 0 Amends the Public Health Service Act to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements to States and political subdivisions, Indian tribes and tribal organizations, and public and private nonprofit organizations to establish programs to reduce suicide deaths among children and adolescents. Requires the Secretary to ensure that awards made will focus on the needs of communities or groups that experience high or rapidly rising rates of suicide. Requires a geographical distribution of such awards between urban and rural settings. Requires each award grantee to prepare and submit to the Secretary an evaluation of activities funded. Limits to five years the duration of projects funded by such awards.Requires the Secretary to initiate a study concerning suicide or attempted suicide by children and youth. 2025-04-21T12:24:17Z
