[R-NY-25] NY R W000099 53 Irish Peace Process Cultural and Training Program Act of 1998 - Directs the Secretary of State and the Attorney General to establish a program for not more than 4,000 young people in each of three consecutive years from disadvantaged areas of designated counties in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland that are suffering from sectarian violence and high unemployment. Declares that the purpose of such program is to help such individuals to develop job skills and conflict resolution abilities in a diverse and peaceful environment so that they can return home better able to contribute toward economic regeneration and the Irish peace process. Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to authorize 36-month nonimmigrant visas for an alien 35 years old or younger having a residence in Northern Ireland, or the counties of Louth, Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo, and Donegal within the Republic of Ireland (which the alien has no intention of abandoning), who is coming temporarily to the United States as a participant in the cultural and training program. Authorizes appropriations. 2025-04-07T15:23:55Z
