Brown, Hank [R-CO] CO R B000919 0 Declares that: (1) resolving the continuing conflict in Afghanistan and alleviating the accompanying humanitarian distress of its people should be a top U.S. priority; and (2) outside interference and the provision of arms and military supplies to the warring parties should be halted. Urges the United Nations (UN) Security Council to impose an international arms embargo on Afghanistan. Welcomes the appointment by the UN of a new special envoy to Afghanistan and urges him to aggressively assist the Afghans to achieve a solution to the conflict acceptable to the Afghan people. Urges the UN to work to create the conditions for a continuing dialogue among the Afghan factions. 2025-01-14T19:00:46Z
