Moynihan, Daniel Patrick [D-NY] NY D M001054 43 TABLE OF CONTENTS: Title I: Commemorative Coin Programs Title II: National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Maintenance Fund United States Commemorative Coin Act of 1995 - Title I: Commemorative Coin Programs - Requires the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold and-or silver coins: (1) emblematic of the Bicentennial of the United States; (2) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the role of President Harry S. Truman; (3) to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Smithsonian Institution; (4) to commemorate the public opening of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C.; (5) to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the establishment of Yellowstone National Park as the first National Park in the United States; and (6) to recognize the sacrifices of law enforcement officers and their families in preserving public safety. Provides for the distribution of surcharges from the sale of coins. (Sec. 102) Mandates that the design for the coins be: (1) selected by the Secretary after consultation with the appropriate recipient organizations and the Commission of Fine Arts; and (2) reviewed by the Citizens Commemorative Coin Advisory Committee. Title II: National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Maintenance Fund - Establishes the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Maintenance Fund as a revolving fund administered by the Secretary of the Interior to be used for specified purposes, including: (1) for the maintenance, security, and repair of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.; (2) to periodically add to the Memorial the names of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty; and (3) to provide educational scholarships to the immediate family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty whose names appear on the Memorial. 2025-08-21T20:15:48Z
