Thomas, Craig [R-WY] WY R T000162 1 Makes technical amendments to the following Acts: (1) an Act regarding the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians; (2) the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa and the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians Act; (3) the Indian Dams Safety Act of 1994; (4) an Act regarding the Pascua Yaqui Indians of Arizona; (5) the Indian Lands Open Dump Cleanup Act of 1994; (6) the American Indian Trust Fund Management Reform Act of 1994; (7) the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act; (8) the Indian Self-Determination Contract Reform Act of 1994; (9) the Auburn Indian Restoration Act; (10) the Crow Boundary Settlement Act of 1994; (11) the Tlingit and Haida Status Clarification Act; and (12) the Native American Languages Act. (Sec. 3) Amends Federal criminal law to repeal specified prohibitions (Trading With Indians Act) on Federal employee-Indian commercial dealings. (Sec. 14) Amends the Ponca Restoration Act to include within the tribal service area Sarpy, Burt, Platte, Stanton, Holt, Hall, and Wayne Counties in Nebraska and Woodbury and Pottawattomie Counties in Iowa. (Sec. 15) Amends the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act of 1994 to extend the agreement and publication deadline. (Sec. 16) Amends the Indian Health Care Improvement Act to include allopathic medicine within the definition of health profession. States with regard to the Indian Health Scholarship program that: (1) Public Health Service active duty requirements shall be satisfied by working at a university which is responsible for recruiting and training Indians in the health professions; (2) such requirements shall be deferred during an internship or other advanced clinical training; (3) service or payment obligations shall terminate upon an individual's death, or be waived in cases of extreme hardship; and (4) bankruptcy discharge may be permitted only under specified circumstances. (Sec. 17) Provides for revocation of the incorporation charter of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe under the Indian Reorganization Act. (Sec. 18) Amends the Equity in Educational Land-Grant Status Act of 1994 to define the manner in which Indian student count shall be determined with respect to tribally controlled community colleges. (Sec. 19) Amends the Advisory Council on California Indian Policy Act of 1992 to extend a specified reporting deadline. (Sec. 20) Amends the San Carlos Apache Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act of 1992 to extend a specified settlement agreement deadline. (Sec. 21) Amends Federal law to authorize the Secretary of the Army to transfer funds to the Department of the Interior for operation of certain Columbia River fishing sites for the Nez Perce, Umatilla, Warm Springs, and Yakima Tribes. (Sec. 22) Authorizes the Ponca Indian Tribe of Nebraska to use specified funds for an adolescent transitional living facility. 2025-07-21T19:44:15Z
