Shays, Christopher [R-CT-4] CT R S001144 1 Amends rule XI of the Rules of the House of Representatives to authorize the chairman of a standing committee or of any subcommittee thereof, in conducting a hearing, to perform its oversight duties, to make a motion naming nine members (or a lesser number in the case of a subcommittee), including the chairman, four other majority members designated by the chairman, the ranking minority member, and three other minority members designated by the ranking minority member, to each interrogate witnesses for a maximum 30-minute period as set forth in the motion. Provides that whenever a standing committee or subcommittee thereof agrees to a motion made pursuant to this Act, any designated member may interrogate any witness for such period. 2024-02-07T14:47:33Z
