[D-CA-18] | CA | D | C000670 | 9 | Constructed Water Conveyances Reform Act of 1995 - Amends the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to provide that a State that exercises jurisdiction over constructed (manmade) water conveyances, in establishing standards for such conveyances: (1) shall consider any water quality impacts resulting from any return flow from such a conveyance to navigable waters and the need to protect downstream uses; and (2) may consider the existing and planned uses of the transported water, management practices necessary to maintain the conveyances, State or regional water resources management and water conservation plans, and the intended purposes for the conveyance. Provides that if a State adopts or reviews water quality standards for such conveyances, it shall not be required to establish recreational, aquatic life, or fish consumption uses for such systems if such uses: (1) are not existing or reasonably foreseeable; or (2) interfere with the intended purpose of the system. | 2025-04-07T15:29:40Z |
