[D-MA-1] | MA | D | O000085 | 0 | Manufacturing Technology and Extension Act of 1995 - Amends the Stevenson-Wydler Technology Innovation Act of 1980 to make the Department of Commerce the lead Federal agency in working with U.S. manufacturers and labor, and the States to develop and promote advanced manufacturing and management technologies and practices. Establishes a National Technology Outreach Program which shall include: (1) Manufacturing Outreach Centers; (2) Regional Centers for the Transfer of Manufacturing Technology; (3) the State Technology Extension Program; (4) the Outreach Program Information Network and Clearinghouse; and (5) other technology and manufacturing centers and activities. Authorizes eligible government and private sector entities to apply to the Secretary of Commerce for designation as Manufacturing Outreach Centers. Authorizes related appropriations. Provides for the establishment of an Outreach Program Information Network and Clearinghouse. Directs the Secretary to establish an Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Program which shall create collaborative multiyear manufacturing design and technology development programs.
