Senate Sen. DeConcini, Dennis [D-AZ] AZ D D000185 0 Hispanic American Affairs Act of 1993 - Establishes in the Executive Office of the President the Office of Hispanic American Affairs to be headed by a Director. Makes it the duty of the Director to advise Federal departments and agencies regarding, and assist Hispanic Americans in receiving, the various types of assistance available under law for Hispanic Americans. Requires the Director to establish a Hispanic American information clearinghouse and carry out transferred functions relating to equal employment opportunity for Hispanic Americans. Mandates annual reports by the Director to the President and the Congress appraising equal opportunities for Hispanic Americans. Requires the President to establish an Office of Hispanic American Affairs (to be headed by a Special Assistant for Hispanic American Affairs) in various specified executive departments and agencies. Makes these Special Assistants responsible for advising and assisting American Hispanics who seek assistance or services from the department or agency. Requires the Secretary of Commerce to take necessary steps to insure that existing information clearinghouse functions within the Department of Commerce encompass the collection and dissemination of information related to the needs of Hispanic Americans.
