Seymour, John [R-CA] CA R S000269 0 Requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue regulations with respect to the revisions made by this Act to make more stringent the criteria for the selection of representative payees and the procedures for monitoring the performance of representative payees under titles II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) (OASDI) and XVI (Supplementary Security Income) (SSI) of the Social Security Act. Includes among such revisions the disqualification of convicted felons as representative payees and the requirement that certain representative payees be legally bonded. Requires quarterly (currently annual) reports on use of payments by representative payees. Allows creditors which are licensed facilities for treating drug or alcohol abuse to be representative payees. Provides for penalties for the misuse of OASDI or SSI benefit payments by representative payees. 2025-01-14T18:59:41Z
