[D-CA-26] CA D B000410 0 False Claims Amendments Act of 1992 - Amends the False Claims Act to permit the Federal Government to obtain the dismissal of a qui tam action if: (1) the person bringing the action learned of the information that underlies the alleged violation in the course of the person's employment by the Government; (2) such person, before bringing the action, did not disclose in writing substantially all material evidence and information that relates to the alleged violation to the agency Inspector General or (where the agency has no Inspector General) the Attorney General; and (3) the Attorney General has not filed an action based on such information. Permits the Government to seek one 12-month extension of the 12-month waiting period upon a showing that the additional period is necessary for the Government to decide whether or not to file a false claims suit. Allows a court to consider such a motion in camera. Eliminates the limitation on qui tam awards. Recasts the categories of lawsuits that are jurisdictionally barred. Excludes from False Claims Act coverage certain violations under the Agricultural Adjustment Act. Provides that whistleblower cases under the False Claims Act shall be governed by the same standard that generally applies to Federal employees under the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989. Establishes the applicability of various provisions of this Act and amendments to the False Claims Act enacted in 1986 and 1988. 2025-07-21T19:32:26Z
