[D-OH-19] OH D F000059 18 Antiterrorism Act of 1990 - Amends the Federal criminal code to provide a Federal cause of action for international terrorism that provides extraterritorial jurisdiction over terrorist acts abroad committed against U.S. nationals. Defines "international terrorism" to include activities that: (1) involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are (or, if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or any State, would be) a violation of Federal or State law; (2) appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence government policy by intimidation or coercion, or affect government conduct by assassination or kidnapping; and (3) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States or transcend national boundaries. Provides for recovery of threefold damages, plus the cost of the suit, including attorney's fees. Establishes a three-year statute of limitations. Provides that actions shall not be maintained under this Act: (1) against the United States, foreign States, and officers and employees thereof acting under color of legal authority; or (2) for injury or loss by reason of an act of war. 2025-08-26T17:27:07Z
