Lowery, Bill [R-CA-41] CA R L000479 12 Reduces from less than 140 days to 30 days or less the period of active duty required before a member of a reserve component of the armed forces is entitled to a variable housing allowance. Amends the Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act of 1940 to prohibit an eviction or distress of the dependents of any person who, after the execution of a lease, enters military service, for the period of active military service, regardless of the agreed rental amount, except upon a court action. Strikes the current three-month limitation on the staying of proceedings for eviction or distress. 2025-06-06T14:17:56Z
