[R-FL-12] FL R L000295 14 Aircraft Catastrophic Failure Prevention Research Act of 1990 - Amends the Federal Aviation Act of 1958 to require the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration to develop technologies to assess the risk of and prevent defects of aircraft parts, aircraft engines, propellers, and appliances which could result in a catastrophic aircraft failure. Authorizes the Administrator to make grants to colleges and nonprofit research organizations to: (1) conduct aviation research relating to development of such technologies; and (2) establish centers of excellence for continuing such research. Amends the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of 1982 to authorize appropriations for FY 1991. 2025-01-14T18:51:33Z
