Saxton, Jim [R-NJ-13] NJ R S000097 1 Farmers Home Cost Reduction Act of 1988 - Amends the Housing Act of 1949 to provide for legal representation in litigation involving the collection of claims arising out of rural housing programs. (Current law restricts such representation to the Attorney General.) Grants the Secretary of Agriculture discretion, for litigation involving loans for housing and buildings on adequate farms, to choose among: (1) U.S. attorneys for the appropriate district and any other attorney the Attorney General designates and supervises; (2) the General Counsel of the Department of Agriculture; or (3) any other attorney with whom the Secretary contracts. 2025-08-28T20:07:56Z
