E9-20610 Absence and Leave; Family and Medical Leave Proposed Rule The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is issuing proposed regulations that would provide an eligible employee up to 26 administrative workweeks of leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to care for a member of the Armed Forces, including a member of the National Guard or Reserves, who is injured in the line of duty while on active duty. The proposed regulations would also amend the rules on advancing sick leave, including sick leave that may be substituted for FMLA unpaid leave to care for a covered servicemember and sick leave that may be used to provide care for a family member and/or for bereavement purposes, or in certain other circumstances.
