| E7-8116 | Fisheries of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and South Atlantic; Gulf of Mexico Vermilion Snapper Fishery Management Measures | Proposed Rule | NMFS issues this proposed rule that would implement a regulatory amendment to the Fishery Management Plan for the Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico (FMP) prepared by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Council). This proposed rule would reduce the minimum size limit for vermilion snapper to 10 inches (25.4 cm) total length (TL), eliminate the 10-fish recreational bag limit for vermilion snapper within the existing 20-fish aggregate reef fish bag limit, and eliminate the 40-day commercial closed season for vermilion snapper (from April 22 through May 31 each year). The intended effect of this proposed rule is to help achieve optimum yield (OY) by reducing vermilion snapper harvest limitations consistent with the findings of the recent stock assessment for this species. | 2007-04-27 | 2007 | 4 | https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2007/04/27/E7-8116/fisheries-of-the-caribbean-gulf-of-mexico-and-south-atlantic-gulf-of-mexico-vermilion-snapper | https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2007-04-27/pdf/E7-8116.pdf | Commerce Department; National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration | 54,361 | NMFS issues this proposed rule that would implement a regulatory amendment to the Fishery Management Plan for the Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico (FMP) prepared by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Council).
