| 2019-13028 | Medicare Program; Secure Electronic Prior Authorization for Medicare Part D | Proposed Rule | This rule proposes a new transaction standard for the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit program's (Part D) e-prescribing program as required by the "Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act" or the "SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act." Under the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, the Secretary is required to adopt standards for Part D e-prescribing program to ensure secure electronic prior authorization request and response transmissions. If finalized, the proposals in this rule would amend the Part D e-prescribing regulations to require Part D plan sponsors' support of version 2017071 of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) SCRIPT standard for use in electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) transactions with prescribers regarding Part D covered drugs to Part D-eligible individuals. | 2019-06-19 | 2019 | 6 | https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2019/06/19/2019-13028/medicare-program-secure-electronic-prior-authorization-for-medicare-part-d | https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2019-06-19/pdf/2019-13028.pdf | Health and Human Services Department; Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services | 221,45 | This rule proposes a new transaction standard for the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit program's (Part D) e-prescribing program as required by the "Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and... |
