| 2015-25459 | Improving 911 Reliability; Reliability and Continuity of Communications Networks, Including Broadband Technologies | Rule | In this document the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) clarifies annual reliability certification requirements for Covered 911 Service Providers in response to a Petition for Reconsideration. Specifically, the Commission clarifies that Covered 911 Service Providers may implement and certify an alternative measure for any of the elements specified in the certification as long as they provide an explanation of how such alternative measures are reasonably sufficient to mitigate the risk of failure. This clarification provides flexibility for Covered 911 Service Providers, including those with Internet protocol (IP)-based networks, to certify alternative measures in lieu of diversity audits and tagging of critical 911 circuits as long as they explain how such alternatives will mitigate risk at least to a comparable extent as the measures specified in the Commission's rules. | 2015-10-07 | 2015 | 10 | https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2015/10/07/2015-25459/improving-911-reliability-reliability-and-continuity-of-communications-networks-including-broadband | https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2015-10-07/pdf/2015-25459.pdf | Federal Communications Commission | 161 | In this document the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) clarifies annual reliability certification requirements for Covered 911 Service Providers in response to a Petition for Reconsideration.
