2015-05897 Airworthiness Directives; General Electric Company Turbofan Engines Proposed Rule We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all General Electric Company (GE) GEnx turbofan engine models. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of GEnx-1B and GEnx-2B engines experiencing power loss in ice crystal icing (ICI) conditions. This proposed AD would preclude the use of full authority digital engine control (FADEC) software, version B175 or earlier, in GEnx-1B engines, and the use of FADEC software, version C065 or earlier, in GEnx-2B engines. We are proposing this AD to prevent engine failure, loss of thrust control, and damage to the airplane. 2015-03-17 2015 3 https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2015/03/17/2015-05897/airworthiness-directives-general-electric-company-turbofan-engines https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2015-03-17/pdf/2015-05897.pdf Transportation Department; Federal Aviation Administration 492,159 We propose to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all General Electric Company (GE) GEnx turbofan engine models.
