This guide endorses, with clarifications and exceptions, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Standard 1012-2004, "IEEE Standard for Software Verification and Validation," and IEEE Std. 1028-2008, "IEEE Standard for Software Reviews and Audits."
