| 2010-32185 | HUD Multifamily Rental Project Closing Documents-Revisions and Updates Notice of Information Collection; 30-Day Notice | Notice | On January 21, 2010, and consistent with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, HUD published for public comment, for a period of 60 days, a notice advising that HUD was updating and revising a set of closing documents used in Federal Housing Administration (FHA) multifamily rental projects. The 60-day notice published on January 21, 2010, started anew the process for updating the multifamily rental project closing documents, and obtaining approval of these documents under the Paperwork Reduction Act, a process that had originally commenced on August 2, 2004. This 30-day notice published today will complete the public comment process required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. With the issuance of this notice, HUD will submit the information collection for the closing documents to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval, and assignment of OMB control numbers. In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act, the closing documents will undergo the public comment process every three years to retain OMB approval. While complying with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this 30- day notice, as was the case with the 60-day notice, provides information beyond that normally provided in such notices. The 60-day notice published on January 21, 2010, responded to the public comments submitted on the proposed closing documents issued for comment on August 2, 2004, and summarized and responded to the public comments. Similarly, this notice issued today identifies substantive changes that HUD has made to the closing documents in response to public comment submitted on the January 21, 2010, notice, and responds to significant issues raised by commenters on the closing documents.
