The gunshot detection system notifies law enforcement officers in the field, as well as dispatchers, of gunshots in an identified area within 60 seconds of the shots being fired. This is a responsible use of taxpayer funding, as the technology has a proven record of increased response times to gun-related calls and assists investigators with much-needed data to investigate these types of crimes.
