This investment in public health will work to alleviate the burden of chronic diseases including heart disease, diabetes, and obesity – conditions that are related to behavioral risk factors and exacerbated by the COVID-19 virus. The COVID pandemic also exposed the dangers of many Americans’ lack of access to a healthcare system.
