Under the previous order, the Senate will\nresume consideration of S.J. Res. 7, which the clerk will report.\n  The assistant bill clerk read as follows:\n\n       A joint resolution (S.J. Res. 7) providing for\n     congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United\n     States Code, of the rule submitted by the Federal\n     Communications Commission relating to ``Addressing the\n     Homework Gap Through the E-Rate Program''.\n\n  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator from Iowa.\n\n                        Veterans History Project\n\n  Mr. GRASSLEY. Mr. President, I want to report to my colleagues what I\nam doing today: delivering some history to the Library of Congress.\n  I will tell you about that project in the Library of Congress. This\nis something that I have done around Veterans Day each year for the\nlast 8 years. In the past and including today, it has added up to the\nhistories of about 95 veterans who have told their stories to me and my\nstaff. Veterans are an important part of our communities. The\nsacrifices of the brave men and women who have served our country\nshould never be forgotten.\n  My office recently interviewed 12 of these 95 veterans--this time\nfrom the Cedar Rapids, IA, area--for what the Library of Congress calls\nthe Veterans History Project. Stories of our veterans help us to better\nunderstand the sacrifices that have granted us security and prosperity\nand have allowed us to live in freedom and with the liberties of this\ngreat Nation, the United States of America. Today, these stories of the\nlatest 12 veterans will be delivered to the Library of Congress,\npreserving these firsthand accounts for future generations to\nappreciate the role of the people who defend our freedoms.\n  For the project that we had in Cedar Rapids, I want to give a special\nthank-you to Teri Van Dorston, at the Veterans Memorial Building in\nCedar Rapids, for hosting the event that we held last November there\nand to Randy Langel from Kirkwood Community College for coordinating\nthe students to perform and record these interviews.\n  I look forward to hosting another Veterans History Project event in\nNovember of this year in the Western Iowa city of Council Bluffs.\n  I yield the floor.\n  I suggest the absence of a quorum.\n  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will call the roll.\n  The assistant bill clerk proceeded to call the roll.\n  Mr. THUNE. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the order for\nthe quorum call be rescinded.\n  The PRESIDING OFFICER. Without objection, it is so ordered.\n\n                   Recognition of the Majority Leader\n\n  The majority leader is recognized.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2025-05-08-pt1-PgS2807-6"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.3901771269738674, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
