Rossetti, Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., offered the following prayer: Good and gracious God, on this, the last day of the year, we look back and give You thanks for Your many blessings given to us, to our loved ones, and to our entire Nation. Indeed, we have been richly blessed. We are also aware of what has not yet been accomplished, and so what needs to be done. As we go forward into a new year, we do so with hope. We know that You are with us. We pray that Your holy spirit would especially hallow this Chamber. May this place be, today and always, a place of enlightenment and those here always intent on doing Your will. We make this prayer in Your holy name. Amen. ____________________
