Mr. Speaker, I want to honor a civic organization in\nYonkers that this year is celebrating a remarkable milestone--the\nYonkers Chamber of Commerce. 2018 will mark 125 years for the Chamber,\nwhich for well over a century now has worked to improve economic\ndevelopment in the region while building and promoting the city of\nYonkers.\n  The Chamber's legacy of service began, officially, on May 1, 1893\nwhen William F. Cochran, a leading Yonkers businessman, entered the old\nCity Court Room and rapped his gavel to officially sanction what was to\nbecome a tradition to the local business community. The Yonkers Board\nof Trade was born. A number of prominent citizens, fifty-two to be\nexact, gathered to sanction what would later become Yonkers' leading\nbusiness organization.\n  A decade later, the Board of Trade continued to address issues of\nconcern and helped establish a visible and viable business community.\nIn 1903 the decision was made to form a Chamber of Commerce, and the\nprocess to make this a reality was put into place. On December 8, 1913,\nthe Yonkers Chamber of Commerce officially became the 325th certified\nmember of the United States Chamber of Commerce.\n  The Chamber of Commerce has served as the guardian and advocate of\nbusiness, and works to foster a healthy relationship with government to\nestablish programs designed to enhance business opportunities and\nattract new commercial establishments to the city. The Chamber of\nCommerce represents a diversified membership of retail, industry,\nprofessionals and service organizations, etc. from major corporations\nto ``mom and pop'' stores. Each member is treated with the same respect\nand concern, regardless of size.\n  Today, the mission of the Yonkers Chamber of Commerce ``to serve,\nbuild and promote a progressive city'' is alive and well.\nCongratulations to the entire Yonkers Chamber of Commerce Board,\nleadership, and membership on reaching this remarkable milestone.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2018-12-31-pt1-PgE1742"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 21.257721120491624, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
