H10597 | Congressional Record, Volume 164 Issue 205 (Thursday, December 27, 2018) [Congressional Record Volume 164, Number 205 (Thursday, December 27, 2018)] [House] [Page H10597] From the Congressional Record Online through the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] PRAYER Reverend Benjamin Hogue, Lutheran Church of the Reformation, Washington, D.C., offered the following prayer: Gracious God, now that the songs of the angels are stilled and the star in the sky is gone, the kings and princes are home and the shepherds are back with their flocks, the work of our holiday begins. Help us to find the lost and heal the broken. Empower us to feed the hungry and release the prisoner. Guide us to rebuild the nations and to bring peace among all. Show us that cooperation and reconciliation are true gifts to share. As Your love guides us toward a new year, with grace and mercy as our companions, make Your presence known in our work for all our neighbors and for justice for all. We give You thanks for this day and the blessings we receive. Amen. ____________________ |
