Mr. Speaker, today I rise in remembrance of a literary\ngiant and Richmond, Virginia, native, Tom Wolfe.\n  Mr. Wolfe was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, in 1930, and\nattended my own alma mater, St. Christopher's School.\n  A pioneer of the New Journalism movement, he worked for the\nSpringfield Union, The Washington Post, the Herald Tribune, Esquire,\nand also wrote influential novels.\n  His multitude of subjects ranged from the hot rod and custom car\nculture of Southern California, to the interactions of famous actors\nand Black Panthers at a Park Avenue fundraiser, to the meteoric rise\nand fall of a fictional New York bond trader.\n  In an interview, Bryon Dobell, Wolfe's editor at Esquire, said this\nabout him:\n  ``He has this unique gift of language that sets him apart as Tom\nWolfe. It is full of hyperbole; it is brilliant; it is funny, and he\nhas a wonderful ear for how people look and feel.''\n  With his passing, we have lost an important and deeply gifted writer.\nI am truly saddened by this great Virginian's passing, and I send my\ncondolences to his friends and to his family.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2018-05-21-pt1-PgH4271"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.2954829726368189, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
