Dear Mr. Speaker: This is to formally notify you, pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, that the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has been served with a grand jury subpoena for documents issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The subpoena is returnable on January 11, 2007, after the 110th Congress convenes. Accordingly, I have advised Chairman-designate Reyes of the Committee's receipt of the subpoena, and he will make the determinations required by House Rule VIII in consultation with the Office of General Counsel.
