Mr. Speaker, I rise in support of the bill, S. 4093.\nThis bill will modify the expiration date of a provision of a farm bill\ndealing with farm credit so that it expires concurrent with the rest of\nthe farm bill. Currently a provision of the farm bill dealing with\nguaranteed loans for farmers and ranchers expires on December 31 of\nthis calendar year.\n  The rest of the farm bill, however, does not begin to expire until\nDecember 30 of 2007. By passing this bill, we are ensuring that this\ncredit program has the opportunity to be fully debated during the\ndevelopment of the next farm bill. Furthermore, should this provision\nexpire in the next few days, it would create a hardship on the part of\nthose farmers, ranchers, and lenders to whom it would apply.\n  I ask my colleagues to support this bill so that this credit program,\nwhich is so important for America's young and beginning farmers, has\nthe opportunity to be debated and reevaluated during the development of\nthe next farm bill without causing undue hardship with limited notice\nto the farmers and ranchers that use this important program.\n  I would also like to thank Michael Hare of my staff for his diligent\nwork in the last week to bring this bill to the floor.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2006-12-27-pt1-PgE2242-2"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 28.15493894740939, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
