Mr. Speaker, I rise to honor the life and\ncourage of U.S. Army Sergeant Bryan T. McDonough.\n  Sergeant McDonough was on patrol near Fallujah, Iraq when a bomb\nexploded near his vehicle, killing him and fellow Minnesotan Spec.\nCorey Rystad, and injuring two others, on December 2nd, 2006.\n  A graduate of Roseville Area High School, SGT McDonough, 22, was\nenrolled in classes at St. Cloud Technical College before he was\ndeployed to Iraq in March 2006.\n  Sergeant McDonough's father, Tom, shared how after learning more\nabout the families left behind by the many men and women who were\ninjured or killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, McDonough decided to enlist\nin the Minnesota Army National Guard in September 2003. He was assigned\nto B Company 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry, based out of\nCrookston, Minnesota. As testimony to his leadership and dedication\nwhile in the Minnesota Army National Guard, he was posthumously\npromoted from the rank of Specialist to Sergeant.\n  The McDonough family lovingly describes Bryan as an avid sportsman\nwho enjoyed spending time bass fishing and hunting with his family at\ntheir cabin in Wisconsin. They cherish their memories of a considerate,\ngenerous young man who always tried to make sure that those he was with\nwere happy. Perhaps the most poignant example of SGT McDonough's\nconcern for others was his stated desire that his family and friends\nnot worry about his safety during his deployment.\n  Mr. Speaker, please join me in honoring the life of Sergeant\nMcDonough for his brave and honorable service to the United States and\nhis commitment to protecting our freedom. He possessed great courage,\nlove of our country and a strong sense of duty toward his fellow\nAmericans. Sergeant McDonough's parents, Tom and Renee, his brother and\nsisters, Shannon, Katie, and Kevin, and his many friends have my\ndeepest sympathies for their profound loss.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2006-12-27-pt1-PgE2240-4"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 4.592200042679906, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
